Jets reportedly fire OC John Morton

The Jets overachieved this season but that wasn’t enough to save the offensive coordinator his job.

New York finished the season 28th in the NFL in total offense, 24th in passing and 19th in rushing.

But he’s coming off back-to-back disappointing games.

In a win over Tennessee last week and a Saturday loss at Texas A&M, Robertson was 2-for-10 from beyond the arc and just 4-for-23 overall.

Robertson said Missouri is still learning to win and needs to bounce back from past mistakes.

It doesn’t really matter if you can’t finish, he told The Kansas City Star.

And finishing has been a problem.

On Saturday, Missouri rallied to within one midway through the second half but couldn’t stay with the Aggies late.

LeBeau again helped Pittsburgh regain the Steel Curtain defense and the Steelers won a pair of Super Bowls in 2005 and 2008. They returned to the Super Bowl in 2010, losing to the Packers. LeBeau spent 11 seasons in his second stint with the Steelers, but resigned following the 2014 season and joined the Titans a month later.

While LeBeau is already in the Hall of Fame thanks to a 14-year playing career that resulted in 62 interceptions as a Lions cornerback, there is a case for LeBeau to be the first assistant coach ever inducted because of his successful career and contributions to the game. LeBeau is credited with inventing the now-ubiquitous zone-blitz defense, an innovation that changed NFL defenses forever. patriots_304_2ebf5da03d09a01b-180x180
