Things won’t be quite as easy out of the gate for Carson Wentz in his second NFL season.
Mens Lawrence Timmons Jersey
Mens Luc Mbah a Moute Jersey The Eagles quarterback shot out of a cannon to lead Philadelphia to wins over the hapless Browns and Bears last season. The rookie was impressive in a 34-3 win over the Steelers in Week 3 before falling back to Earth as the Eagles finished 7-9. Two of the Eagles’ first two games last season were at home, but they’ve got two straight road games to begin the 2017 season and face two NFC East opponents within the first three weeks. The Eagles did not get a division opponent until Week 5 last season.
If the Eagles are going to unseat the Cowboys atop the NFC East, a five-week midseason stretch will be key. The Eagles have three straight home games from weeks 7 to 9 before heading to Dallas following their bye.
The Raiders have a pretty good warmup here before the nitty-gritty of their schedule. They should be favored to take down three non-playoff teams, including a chance to showcase themselves early on SNF in Washington. The potential 3-0 start will help for later.
That SNF matchup in Miami will set the tone for the Raiders’ second half. With what’s coming after, it’s almost a must-win for Oakland if it is to have designs of winning the division. At least the game against defending Super Bowl champion New England is after the bye.
It’s hard to shake the freefall of RGIII in Washington, but other starting QBs, including John Beck and Danny Wuerffel, have been a lot more woeful. None, however, was worse than this RG. Gugliemi, the No. 4 overall pick in 1955, went 4-13-3 in four seasons with the Redskins. As you can imagine, the numbers with it look terrible in any era: 77.4 yards per game, 47.3 completion percentage, 17 touchdowns to 40 interceptions, formulating a 43.5 rating.
